This is how “Cloud/Device” appears on the Kindle App on the iPad. If you have a Kindle Fire, or a Kindle App on an iPhone or iPad or a newer Kindle (like the Paperwhite), you will see a spot that says “Cloud/Device”. When you buy a Kindle book at Amazon, the book appears on your shelf-in-the-sky. Double-click on the title of an e-book in your desktop library to open that book. If you'd like to read your Kindle books on one specific computer even when you don't have an active Internet connection, you should download the Kindle desktop app. Hate and it says it downloaded to my Kindle, but it isn't listed in my library. Shut down and restart your device (you'd be surprised how often this fixes. It's not very common, but sometimes a Kindle book won't download. Once you buy a Kindle book, it is yours forever (if you want to keep it). So let’s look at the life of a Kindle book. I’m so glad that she brought this to my attention, because I’m guessing that there are a great many others who share this concern. She is afraid to delete any books because she doesn’t want to lose them.
